A diverse, fun and challenging curriculum

We’ve employed the latest thinking in educational research to create programmes that boost your child’s cognitive growth.

Across all studios

We believe a mix of indoor/outdoor learning delivers a balanced educational experience and encourages children to develop greater agency within their own space. Your child has access to both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day, dependent on the weather.
We’re focused on nutrition and healthy eating at Aurora. Expert nutritionists advise us on our menus, which include multicultural dishes. Our in-house cook prepares fresh, delicious food in the Aurora Kitchen every day and we’ll encourage your child to try all meals unless you advise us otherwise (e.g. for allergies or dietary restrictions). Water is served with every meal and milk is provided at morning tea.
We know a full menu of play and learning can be tiring! Your child has access to a cot or mattress in our supervised sleep area or, if they only need a rest, they can join groups participating in quieter activities in our supervised quiet area. They’re welcome to bring a special comfort toy should they need it to nod off.
We supply disposable nappies during the day and change your child at regular intervals or when they need it.
We can help you with toilet training if you require it. We encourage and supervise your child to use the bathroom when necessary and teach them good hygiene practices throughout the day.

Willow Walk Studio – Kindergarten for children aged 4-6 years

At Aurora, our Kindergarten room offers a rhythmic routine and structure to each day. Each session allows for whole group discussions and explorations of concepts and then children direct their own learning through engaging with interactive, fun and exciting experiences that are set up around the room.

Activities and experiences are carefully thought about to meet individual children’s needs and abilities and to further develop their knowledge and skills. Concepts are discussed during whole group session time and then activities allow for exploration and inquiry to build on a child’s base knowledge.

Our educators engage in scaffolding children’s learning. Scaffolding is the term used to refer to how an adult supports a child’s learning. Our Kindergarten Program is tailored for individuals and groups. Activities reflect three distinct roles an educator can take on to scaffold a child’s learning.

The first is to intentionally and directly model concepts to an individual child or group of children.

The second is where an educator may work together with the child to encourage concept development, higher order thinking and reasoning and together they reach a conclusion.

The third is where an educator may encourage a child to perform or demonstrate a concept or skill on their own with little to no support (in this instance the educator is observing the child and takes a passive role).

Many opportunities are provided for incursions and excursions in Willow Walk Kindergarten. The educators allow the children to choose what interests them and this informs any decisions made regarding incursions and excursions planned throughout the year.
