Life readiness is school ready
Our school readiness program prepares your child to transition seamlessly and successfully from kindergarten to school and lays the foundation for a lifetime of positive learning experiences.
To be school ready, children need to be independent and self-reliant. They also need to:
- Be able to successfully negotiate and problem solve with other kids.
- Look after their own belongings.
- Use the bathroom independently.
- Follow multiple instructions and complete set tasks.
- Be able to express emotions appropriately.
- Deal with competition and conflict.
We start mid-year before your child transitions. We’ll prepare a report that reflects on how your child might cope with the change and book an interview with you to discuss their progress and options.
Then we’ll work to enhance their emotional maturity, physical development, social and communication skills, focusing on building resilience to cope with whatever school throws at them – whether it’s in the classroom or the playground.
The first five years of a child’s life can have a major influence in shaping what sort of adult they may become and what kind of life they will go on to lead. We all want our children to grow up happy, healthy, and successful and have meaningful relationships and lives.
At Aurora we are both honoured and blessed to be a part of so many children’s lives and journeys and feel it is our duty to ensure that they are well catered for emotionally, socially, mentally and academically. A child’s early experiences, knowledge and skills can hold them in good stead for the continuation of their individual learning journey. Therefore it is imperative that we offer a high quality early educational experience alongside a warm, nurturing and supportive environment that offers stability and security for each and every child.
We aim to have children that leave our service go on to be confident and capable individuals with a zest for knowledge and an eagerness to become the best that they can be.
