In Moonglade Studio the children have been learning about Mindful Eating and what this entails. Each child chooses where they sit at the table and then they serve their friend some food before themself, asking what their friend might like off the platter.
Each child is only to serve what they know they can finish and is encouraged to always think about leaving enough food for those who have not eaten yet and to finish the food on their plate before getting any more. Then they are asked to take their time eating their food and sitting at the table quietly which is a lot of effort for an energetic 3 year old! This week they have started saying a blessing before eating, thanking the farmers and the chef who prepared their food and to be grateful that they are nourished and healthy.
